Cory Jecmen, L.Ac | Licensed Acupuncturist

Mr. Cory Jecmen, M.Ac., L.Ac. comes to CIH having worked in various integrative and hospital settings around the D.C area. He is particularly drawn to working in a team-based and collaborative environment, such as CIH, where he feels complex and chronic conditions benefit the most.

Mr. Jecmen’s treatment principles are simple and effective. Although every treatment of his is individualized, his goal with every patient is the same, to get to the root of their illness with a treatment that is tailored specific to that imbalance. He is keenly focused not just on the alleviation of the symptoms that bring someone in the door, but works to leverage acupunctures effectiveness to help patients move towards long-term wellness and optimal health.

Cory chose acupuncture as a career field after a personal experience on his own healing journey. He had a lot of exposure to energetic fields and body work growing up as the son of a well-known practitioner of Visceral Manipulation and CranioSacral Therapy. In high school he became a patient of an Oriental Medical Doctor whose work transformed his life and helped him find a tremendous amount of relief with his own conditions. From those experiences, he decided to dive into acupuncture as a means to satisfy his life-long passion of helping people realize their true potential.

Cory has a master’s degree in acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute). He comes to CIH from the Casey Health Institute where he worked as an acupuncturist and clinical informaticist. Prior to the Casey Health Institute he worked at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C. where he served as an acupuncturist and researcher with the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center. Prior to his assignment at the VA, he owned and operated a private acupuncture practice in Silver Spring, MD. Mr. Jecmen did his undergraduate work at Western State Colorado University obtaining a degree in biology and chemistry.

Cory lives in Virginia where he raises his two young boys in a loving partnership with his wife. He loves spending as much time as possible in the outdoors with his family, is an avid runner and fitness enthusiast, and enjoys alpine skiing whenever he can get above 7 thousand feet.
