Licensed naturopathic doctor, Aminah Keats, ND, FABNO, is board certified in naturopathic oncology and has specialized in integrative oncology since 2004. Her goal with each patient is to create and recommend a personalized natural strategy that safely works to reduce side effects, support immune function and offer a cancer-fighting benefit to patients actively undergoing conventional oncology treatment in the form of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and surgery. Dr. Keats also works with patients in remission and those who are at high risk for cancer. She utilizes herbal medicine, nutritional counseling, lifestyle counseling and other natural modalities in creating individualized plans for each patient. In line with the naturopathic principle of Doctor as Teacher, Dr. Keats is passionate about helping patients to obtain a clear understanding of their current condition and integrative oncology plan.
Before completing a two-year, hospital-based residency in integrative oncology, Dr. Keats received her naturopathic doctorate degree from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Spelman College and completed pre-medical coursework at Rutgers University. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Keats continued to work in an integrative oncology setting as a naturopathic oncology consultant then as director of a naturopathic oncology program.
